Five things I found this week – 22 April

This week’s pages – general information, updates and informal CPD, are all relevant to Collier Steven’s work
(originally an in-house info page for our staff)

Surveys –

Not many of these left if any now, I know there were several in Eltham – Middle Park Estate, and some in Bromley, as I saw them in the early ’90’s.  I should think they have all been replaced now, probably without realising what they were

Party Walls –

This case is principally about the service of notices in a landlord and tenant environment, but I would expect a similar test to the Mannai principle to be applied when party wall notices are believed to be defective.

Surveys-

One to watch out for – we have two surveys completed in “Kiziak” buildings, both before the fraud was uncovered.  Always advise the purchasers legal advisor must verify the authenticity of any EWS1 form.

Surveys-

Another one to watch out for – the binding nature of what were boundary agreements entered into by predecessors in title but undocumented

Surveys –

Some great details in this 1925 Crittal Window catalogue showing the design and recommended fitting and securing of original Crittal Windows
